This year, 2021, continues to deliver on mass quantities of endless annoyances. This week we do a little ranting about how knife fights have suddenly become West Side Story Redux and a little bit on the utility of crossdraw holsters.

Our founding fathers were focused on a constrained federal government. We need to get back to that. The essential problem is to recreate federalism, where the states are more important. This is more local, it gives us more choices and allows the people to choose the amount of stupid intrusion by idiots who have proven themselves as vicious, incorrigible control freaks. It appears that what Florida and Texas are doing is the only path forward. Montana is another good example. Simple pass legislation to opt out of the idiocy.
On a gun topic, I find AR pistols to be as handy and useful as M1 carbines. I would enjoy anything you could bring to the viewer about using them and carrying them. Thanks
Total agreement on the Oscars, Michael. Overt the years, they’ve become increasingly political. Not only are many good (but popular) films ignored, but the “In Memoriam” feature has also become worse and worse. This year was the worst ever, with some important people forgotten or ignored, and barely enough time for the audience to read the names of those being memorialized. Perhaps the Oscars can be like an alcoholic: having hit rock bottom, they can now begin to address their many problems.
The rest of the podcast was spot-on. Agreement on the ubiquity of the small 9mm pistols, but some of us cling to our somewhat larger — but still compact — pistols, such as the Glock 26. I like being able to carry a G19 or G17 mag as my spare. In the single stacks, I also like the Springfield XDS series: I find them somewhat heavy but very shootable.
If President Sock Puppet didn’t lie about our gun rights, how could he make his arguments? And after he gets off the gun ban kick, he’ll get back to spending faster than a drunken sailor after a long Westpac cruise.
By the way, your appearance on Gun Talk about politically sanctioned violence was absolutely great! Your point were very clear and terrifying at the same time.
What people don’t seem to be able to grasp is that street violence, mass shootings, etc. serve the purposes of the state. I truly believe that the DemocRAT plan is to have everything fall apart so that they have an excuse to “take over” law enforcement, education, etc.
