I hope for Ruger's sake these work out better than the last ones. Shotgunners can be very finicky.
The price point is attractive but it won't be easy competing with a maker that has been in the business 500 years and some others that have sterling reputations for quality, options, longevity and fit options. IMHO you can shoot a neutral gun very well but a right or left handed gun you will shoot better.
If they can't get some upper level competitors to use them, this too shall pass.
Disclaimer:
I have handled only two RLs - one was used almost never and was in good shape. The other was used a bunch and the owner wanted to know if I could figure out what was wrong with it.
That auto safety has to go.

Just saw one last week, and to paraphrase The Who, Here is the new Red Label, same as the old Red Label.

They never should have discontinued it. I purchased one back in the early 90's. At the time they were running around 20% less than a new Citori, ($800.00 vs. $1,000.00). It's been a great shotgun. I shot a lot of 5 Stand Sporting Clays with mine, and killed more than my share of Doves with it. The wood is fairly straight grained with an oil finish. Not bad for a O/U at that price point. I'm not sure what the street price is now on the "new" old Red Label. I think it would help sales if they had a Trap version of it.
