Title: Scale Stand

I've known for sometime that I needed a more stable platform for my scale.    Having read an article recently about the most common errors in weighing powder, I finally took the bull by the horns. 

It's a little big, but not terribly heavy.  Can be moved where ever.  Has rubber baby buggy bumpers on the bottom so it won't "teeter".

I was dropping off Army L.R.R.P.s in 67 and 68.
1971-72 I was flying Cobras.

I've cut the base down so it fits between the work bench and the reloading bench.  So much steadier than putting it on the bench.  I'm getting much better measurements.    Pictures tomorrow.

My group 437MAW was tasked with "recovering" lost things.  You know, diplomats in the middle of riots or when countries collapsed.    We had a few Marines that went along with us.  Wonderful garden spots.  Northern Philippines.  Okinawa during their riots.  Spain, when Nixon visited France and I don't know where in the South America (Google hadn't been invented).  I may have gone to Africa, but my memory is very hazy at times.   Technically I was just Fire (as in ready, aim fire) Control Specialist.  Somehow I seemed to go to a lot of spots that didn't particularly like us.   GREAT TIMES.

I learned that the soft rubber baby buggy bumpers and the long moment arm of my base caused the top to oscillate.   That plus I couldn't get it between the tables.  So I cut down the base and removed the bumpers.

Now the press is steady enough I notice it actually it has about a 5 minute warm up period.

My loading bench has a fold down shelf built into the cabinet that holds my scale.

With the weight of my bench and built in cabinet, the scale is on a very solid location.
I’ve never had a problem.

Supporting the Long Range Recon Patrol (Black instead of Green Berets) got me into lots of places where it seemed we weren’t welcome.
