I feel like Christmas just came around again. The 1000 rounds of .223 I ordered in Oct/Nov, was just shipped yesterday. Also, it only cost me $256! :o Of course that's because I ordered it before the real ammo shortage set in and it is Wolf. My M&P 15T eats the stuff with no problems though, so hurray for me! ;D Time to go load up a fewclips... errr... mags and send some down range.
Swoop
One of the local shops has a couple of cases of PMC Bronze in .223, 55gr FMJ, about 46 cents per round - obviously retail but on the shelf. I'm not familiar with PMC Bronze, can anyone help here, is this a decent rount?
Midway Wolf 7.62X39 $350+ /1000 sold out no back order.

Timothy, Gonna stop in there tommarow. Thanks! "cant hunt with a rifle!?!" Your allowed shotguns right?
In Michigan we're only allowed rifles in the northern (less populated) half of the state. They allow people to hunt deer with .410's here... :-\
Haven't checked Dick's.
That's what she said.
(Sorry, if I hadn't done it somebody else would have.)
It is hit and miss around here. Strangest places have ammo to where the popular spots do not. ???
Getting guns is a problem for the range, they are a Glock dealer and while I was there they called 4 distributors,ONE had some of the stuff they were looking for, but not all models, No Ruger GP 100's to be had, which stunk as that was what I was after. He told me to try back next week.
Yeah, what is up with the gp-100 thing? I am considering trading in my Blackhawk in on one and they are damn scarce, particularly used. They can't be an AWB panic buy, I wouldn't think, and they'r too big to be ccw driven Is Ruger cutting back on production? I'm curious.
fightingquaker13
Glocks are very hard to find at the gun shops. Unless you have a FFL and able to purchase on www.gunbroker.com. The next best place to get one is at a gun show.
That high standard's...ok...maybe...,but not nearly as good as a Browning Challenger II. ;D
locally about the only hand guns you can find are glocks. That and really odd ball stuff, a local shop has a high standard target, with 4 mags. If it was not for the fact its 22 short, it would be in my safe already.( I was there when they took it on consignment)
Around here it's SA revolvers, .22 pistols , bolt and lever rifles.
Even rifles here are very limited. If you want one in a common chambering, forget it. Intrestingly shot guns are every where. Not the selection there was this time last year, but still out there.
Just don't plan on finding buck shot or slugs.
Walmart in Shakopee, MN finally had 9mm come in yesterday. I was told they received 50 boxes of WWB. A friend picked up 10 boxes for me and it was $20 a box.
If you're talking about 9mm ball, then that's high even for right now prices.
Not around here. I picked up two boxes of the same stuff at Gander Mtn three weeks ago for $27 a piece. How much does the WWB go for around you? I might need a road trip!
Tim,
Get a C&R license. It ain't hard and you get discounts as a dealer (even at Midway and Cabela's).
I don't think I can. MA doesn't allow any mailorder of any kind without an FFL 01. I'll certainly check though. Thats the collector and relic license right? FFL 03???
Yep. I have some good links to a "how to" if ya want.
Yep. I have some good links to a "how to" if ya want.
Heres another link that I got from Haz a couple weeks ago.
http://www.surplusrifle.com/shooting2005/howtogetyourcurionrelicffl03/index.asp
Waiting for the package ;D
43 bucks for 100/WWB .45 ACP and 34 bucks for 100/9 x 19....Ouch, again bought two boxes of each...
Wally World has been out of everything but .22 for seven weeks....
I see you are in MA. Do they have an extra tax on ammo? The reason I ask is becuase I just picked up the WWB (100 rds) for $20 in 9mm. Why would Wally World charge $14/box more over there? (I am in MN)
I an lucky enough to have a gun dealer (my absolute favorite guy on this planet when it comes to guns) that magically has a stock of all kinds of ammo and guns. I have no idea how he has the stuff he has in stock except for the fact he probably knows more Reps in the business then MB does. He sells all of it a damn good price too considering what ammo prices are at right now.
He literally has a gun shop 30 ft from his house. Not only that, he is located in the middle of nowhere and has people coming to him from 100s of miles around. He does more business per month then all the Wal-marts in the Alamo city combined. He's an older gentleman that has been 'tested' by ATF on several occasions. But he doesn't even begin to give a break to someone who is trying to pull something illegal, no matter what the sale may be. Great guy all around and he keeps me stocked with any and all ammo I have need.
I won't bother giving out his information because frankly, he doesn't need the internet's help in sales. Plus I think he likes it better with actual word of mouth business. Besides that, he doesn't even have a computer to use for his business. All hand written paperwork.
So if you know him, you know him. If you have a friend that knows him, you know him. If you have a friend of a friend that knows him, you know. Basically if you live within a 100 miles of him and you like guns, you know him.
Also, Wall Mart, at least here in Sonoma County, and probably elsewhere, gets their daily shipment of ammunition around 10pm. They are open until eleven. The first ones in line are the local Mexican gang bangers who buy all the hangun ammo before it gets on the shelves. Yeah, heresay, but from a good source who is a good man.
I went to the local Meijer to get my wife a Mother's Day present today and then wandered through the sporting goods isle. I got the last box of Win .22LR 500 round box for $9.99. Strangly they had lots of rifle ammo and shotgun slugs but NO centerfire handgun ammo. Lots of 16 gauge slugs for $3.49 a box.
There is still ammo out there it is just the odd stuff.
Way to go! Congrats on the find!
They got anymore?
::)
I scored 400 rounds of 9mm ammo (Winchester White Box) at Wal-Mart yesterday. They had eight 100rd boxes for $20 each, so I picked up 4 boxes. They also had two or three boxes each of .40 and .45 acp, some random rifle rounds, as well as a few boxes of high end .22 lr
They have now also posted a sign limiting all purchases to 6 boxes.
Awesome catch......Our Wal Marts have been out of everything for a few months. Same goes for every gun shop in town. Any updates on internet ammo from anyone? I could use most hand gun calibers. I have plenty of 223 and 270...so OK in the rifle dept.

All Wal-Mart stores are still getting regular weekly ammo deliveries..... The problem is that it is gone before it hits their shelves. They are having people line up for it when it arrives and they are buying them out immediately. Wal-Mart has not increased the size of their orders, so finding anything after time of delivery is a rarity. Many stores are now putting quantity restrictions in place so more customers can make a purchase, but we all know that is a futile attempt. I would think that the powers that be at one of the worlds largest retailers would have a little more pull and would be able to get larger shipments...... guess not.
Thanks for the great info. I'll talk to the sporting goods guy at my local Wally World and ask when they get their shipments.
I have plenty of personal defense ammo but need some range ammo to keep sharp.
Thanks again !!!
*As a side note.... When I bought that ammo the other day, the person behind the counter had just got done giving a disgruntled explanation to a customer as to why they are always out of ammo.... "We cant stop people from buying more then they need", she said...... She then turned to me and when I told her I wanted 4 boxes, she rolled her eyes and shook her head in frustration. I paid for my ammo and thanked her graciously, then walked away smiling and laughing most of the way out of the store.
Ol' Wally ain't got crap in my neck o' the woods. >:( >:( :'(Same here PegLeg our Wally Worlds are still empty too.
Same here PegLeg our Wally Worlds are still empty too.
Ol' Wally ain't got crap in my neck o' the woods. >:( >:( :'(
Same here Kid, the only thing they have is 12 & 20 ga. a couple of cases of each.
I just got back to California yesterday from a 7200 mile trip around the country and and can tell you the demand for ammo is far from over.
I stopped at Wally Worlds from WY to Maine and the one common thing that I ran into were customers looking at empty slots on the shelves where the .380, 9mm, .40, and .45 should have been.
Cody, WY did have 2 boxes of 9mm and 2 boxes of .45. I found 2 boxes of .380 in Scarborough, ME, one store someplace in Ohio had 8 boxes of 100 round WWB .45 which was the most I saw anywhere. Newton, NE had one box of 9mm.
I did see many stores with a few boxes of .38 and .357 on the shelf.
They all say they are getting regular deliveries but it disappears as fast as it goes on the shelf and all the Wally Worlds that I checked had 6 box limits in effect.
Glad to be home...........
I stopped at Cabela's in Rapid City, SD, Scarborough, ME, Sidney, NE and Reno, NV. They had defensive ammo available but I haven't had a problem getting that stuff mail order from them with fairly short wait times so I didn't buy any as I have a pretty good supply on hand.
I was more interested in plinking ammo. I managed to pick up a little over a 1000 rounds in .380, 9 mm and .45 from the various Walmarts that I stopped at. I'll have to take another trip when I use this up.
I did think about Kittery Trading Post and was going to stop there on the way out of Maine but for some reason I forgot. I have shopped there in the past.
You DO get around don't you. ;D
I forgot to mention my stop in Portsmouth to stock up on beer........ no deposit or sales tax!
I know Portsmouth very well, it's where I enlisted in the Marines in 77, My Grandmothers family had been in that town since the 1800's, I lived in Hampton and Exeter for about 6 years.
I remember when we used to drive to Newington just to go to Taco Bell as there weren't any in Maine at the time. How things/times change!
Don't know what your issue is :P
(http://gallery.mac.com/philw/100050/DSCF9649/web.jpg)
hehe although I did pay Toooo much that is about $380 bucks worth that I have just about shot up over the last 2 weeks
I NEED TO RELOAD
I think the issue is .380, 9mm, .40 and .45ACP. I noticed you bought 2 boxes of 9mm. How many did they have available?
I went to an indoor range today and thought it was great being the only shooter there. I do feel bad not being able to replace what I shoot so I had to limit myself to 100 rounds.
quite a few mate
I just did not have the $$$ to get more
and I had a few boxed at home all ready
It's pretty well agreed that Reminton brass is the bottom of the barrel junk. Winchester brass is MUCH better, and typically the same price.
As a rule. Military firearms are "over gased" so they will eject more reliably. Often results in harsh handling of empty cases.
If you DO decide to hand load. It's pretty well agreed that Reminton brass is the bottom of the barrel junk. Winchester brass is MUCH better, and typically the same price. Of course there are more expensive brands, but with a semi-auto you wont be using much, or any of the brass twice. Very few semi-auto's leave brass looking very good. Bad dents or scrape marks from magazine lips & bottom edges of load ramps, dents from extractors, ejectors, clips and magazines cutting into cases... The stuff usually isnt very pretty once you learn what to look for.
Reloading, or hand loading is primarily for bolt guns or single shots. There are exceptions of course!
Any AK I've seen will throw cases 15' and more, and nearly crush brass cases all the way in! 99% of military ammo in the world is steel cased, and not reloadable anyway. But the "over gasing" sure doesnt hurt semi-auto, or full auto reliability!
No American Military Ammunition is steel. The only exception might have been during WW II. Even then if I recall we made out pennies out of steel so our ammo could be brass and copper. The eastern bloc countries use steel far more than NATO does. Bill T.
I believe he's implying that cheapest most widely available ammo around the whole world, not just here is steel. Specialy for what Badger shoots, his argument makes sense, if you were humping it through burnt out Europe or Asia. Here that's debatable. I've never seen brass cased 7.69, but then again I've never looked, but I'd bet money that Badgers 99% is right on the money for that round. Same for any commie round, and I'd bet that an over whelming majority of military ammo around the world is in commie calibers. BTW, I've got some of those pennies, 1943 steel, very cool.

I dont think you'll see a whole lot of American ammo being used outside this country. I've seen a good bit of .308 in steel cases. And the only 7.62 x 39 I personally have seen in brass is the Winchester stuff I buy to reload. If your seeing a lot of bent up cases from handling it may well be happening after it leaves the factory. The stuff I mail order is usually in much ruffer shape as far as dents than what I buy locally, but it just depends on the stock boys, and delivery guys I'd guess. Where Remington brass is of lower quality would be more visible if you cut a case in half. THEN you'll see the difference around the primer pocket, and wall thickness. Nothing to do with ruff handleing (Dremel tools are pretty handy for a clean cut).
I cant speak for the garand type action in particular. But I've yet to see any automatic rifle that consistantly left brass cases in good enough shape I'd trust reloading them. Only takes one little weak spot in a case wall to ruptur and possibly do very ugly things to a very expensive gun, and rather hard to replace arm... Just not worth risking. And with necked cases... I have no idea how you push out even little dents in case walls that would drasticly change chamber pressures... It's just not worth the risk of a Kaboom at any price!
I've found a few of these M10's popping up to. AMAZING build quality!!!
http://www.australianinternationalarms.com.au/product.htm
The only Semi auto I ever saw that was "Rough on brass", was the G 3's fluted chamber. As for 99% of military ammo being steel, the only steel cased ammo I have ever encountered was East European/Chinese.
Just picked up;
100 rounds of 44 mag Semi jacket
140 rounds of 45 colt hot loaded hollow point
50 rounds of 30-06 loaded with the lever evolution bullets (150 grain)
All for $103.00 from my reloader. BUT he cannot get powder right now and is really hurtin!
Last week Walmart in Shakopee, MN had some "Winchester Supreme Elite PDX1 9mm Luger +P 124gr JHP Bonded Personal Protection" in stock. (That name is straight from the box. Longest name ever? Perhaps.) They had 38 Special, .40, .45 and 9mm. Probably around 20 boxes on the shelf of each caliber. I read that this is the ammo the FBI issues their agents. So I figured it is good enough for me. It was $18.47/box of 20rds for the 9mm.Thanks for the info. My Wally has never had any PD ammo, only range ammo.
I stopped by Wal-Mart to get some insect repellant and noticed they had Wincherster WB 44 Mag 240 Gr for $31.99! I bought all they had! (5 boxes!) ;D

ammoman.com has, last I checked, 62gr. .223/5.56Prvi PArtizn, $399/1000. That is athe shipped to your door price.
sportsmansguide.com also has, last I checked, some Silver Bear .223 (if you like that stuff)?
About 3 or 4 days ago Wal-Mart had about a 12 boxes of .45...... Today Dick's was overflowing.... they probably had 5-15 boxes of every type of common caliber there is..... Prices were still high, so I passed.
SCORE!
1 box of 380 16.95 FMC
3 boxes of 9 13.50 ea FMJ
3 boxes of 38 spl 11.95 ea JHP

I just can't find 38 special ammo more than 1 box every month or so.,..and sure as heck I sure cant find any 38 special wadcutters.
Anyone know of any professionally reloaded 38 special wadcutters at reasonable prices?
Not a lot of anything except a few boxes of odd caliber hunting ammo, but they were well stocked on Federal .223 100 round bulk packs for $40. I was in a hurry and there was no one to get it.....so, I'll swing in tonight after the auction and grab a box or two.
They also had plenty of .40 S&W but mot much else in handgun ammo.
I stopped by the local Walmart this afternoon to see what they had as I was looking for .40 S&W. They had one box of .357 sig, and some .22 shorts. That was about it. I debated buying the .357 sig.
.45 Colt and .45-70 are hard to find around where I am but other ammo is starting to come around. You still find the odd stuff though. For example I found an entire case of British .303 at Bass Pro Shops of all places a few weeks back!?
What's the world comming to?!? Local Wallyworld is fully stocked with everything from .22 shorts, to 30/06. Including plenty of .380! (Always seem's to be the hottest ticket in town)
Could it be America as a whole is fully stocked for TEOTW?!?! :o ;)
I went to Gander Mountain today and they had plenty of ammo in every caliber I looked for but I forgot to check for .380. They had more shotgun ammo than anything else and not many choices in .22. I didn't realize just how old this thread was but things are looking up after a few years.
I did not think we would ever see a brick under $20 again.
Great price but what is the shipping cost?
I picked up some Aguila Super Extra 22LR copper plated 40 grain solid and 38 grain HP...with shipping 0.0373 cents per round delivered from Midsouth Shooters Supply.
I've never shot any of this before.....but for the price it's gotta plink.
Thanks a lot for costing me what little cash I have right now....
Mike, you dang well better show up at Fort Smith this year.....
So...do you guys have enough 22LR in stock? Time to evaluate did you have enough lying around before this virus hit.
No working 22? Huh? What? ???
Does anyone ever really have enough?? 8)
And since you're advertising on Down Range, how about a discount for forum users?

I would like to get about 5k cases so i will have something to do for the next month or so. while i wait for slab to cure. trying hard not to work right now.
Cheapest m193 i can find is $.68/ shotTAB, I got this in a email, might want to hurry it will go fast.
I am glad i roll my own, and i have a good supple of everything other than 556. Which i can not find brass for. I have primers, powder and bullets. Just only about 200 cases.
Alf... your new mantra.... Mark7 , Mark7 , Mark 7
That's right. Our drug store sells ammo and guns.
I bought a bunch of 22LR for 3.8 cents a round back a few months. I think I'm going to sell off most of it at the next gun show. The prices now are unbelievable...and people are paying it.
I am actually looking for 556 brass. That is also double the price from starline.
Any small pistol primers anywhere?
<snip> Hell, the radicals in Congress like AOC, are all but calling for it. They see this happening on the horizon...... And want it.
Right up to the point where they start getting their behinds kicked. Then they will want a truce....good luck with that.
Right up to the point where they start getting their behinds kicked. Then they will want a truce....good luck with that.
I think this shortage is going to last a lot longer than the others. Rioting is getting worse by the day. And if Trump and the Republicans clean house in November, they'll all go nuts because they'll feel they have nothing to lose. Hell, the radicals in Congress like AOC, are all but calling for it. They see this happening on the horizon...... And want it.
Any 10 mm sd ammo out there? Normally i carry gold dots, but i can not find any. Any recommendations on what elae to look for?
Got a little side distraction today. I set one of my monitors on the security cameras (4 of them) that used to give a view of our north truck lot and exterior of the shop. Now they just show the inside of our new freezer that is under construction (25,000 sq ft). I have watched footings, foundation walls, five feet of compacted fill, steel framework, insulated panels, couldn't watch roof because cameras are aimed down, and glycol lines all going on. Monday I turned the system on and saw that they had poured the grout on Saturday. Tuesday and Wednesday were spent laying vapor barrier and foam board, and setting tube forms around all the uprights to isolate them from the slab. Today they came in with the laser screed and riding finishers. This is the first time I have watched a laser screed in operation, and it is damn impressive.
Jump to about the three minute point for the action:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65YL4f2jIGY
They started pumping about 0830, and when I left at 1600, they were about 2/3 done with the pour and screed, the three riders were following very close, and the final finish rider was almost to the half way point. Tomorrow I will look at the replay to see when they finished. 925 yards poured and finished in one day! Not rough finish, this is glass smooth.
I said "WOW" to our CFO on my way out the door this afternoon, and he said schedule is for the boom lift and scissor lifts to be in on Monday to start running refrigerant lines and hanging units. Once the units are hung, the racking will be stacked in, the final wall sections will be put in, and the building will be sealed for the final installations.
Vista Outdoor Back Ordered to the tune of $1 Billion.
Vista Outdoor, owner of the Federal, CCI, Speer, and Remington brands of ammunition, announced that they have back orders that extend over a year, and amount to over a billion dollars of orders at wholesale cost.
I didn't read it yet but saw the headline.
https://www.gunnuts.net/2020/11/13/vista-outdoor-back-ordered-to-the-tune-of-1-billion/
I knew I wasn't imaging this.
During the last primer shortage I bought a brick of Fiochi Small pistol primers,They came 1500 in a brick which priced them about $27.00/1000 compared to the $38.00/1000 for Federal,Winchester I normally use. They all went bang and seated smoothly on the brass.I would definitely buy them again if I found them.
Just found a place where they had .300BLK allegedly in stock. 150gr, wait-list for the 220gr I wanted.
https://www.gorillaammo.com/ (https://www.gorillaammo.com/)
I asked at one of the local gunshops and they said they shoot it (former Marine) so I ordered a bucket - 175 rounds for $250 including shipping. Not great, but better than the $50.00 for a box of 20 of Rem green/white box I saw at the same gunshop.

If I could get primers I would go shooting about twice a week. I just can not get them and don't expect to be able too any time soon. No point in shooting up my supply of ammo if there is no hope of replacing it.
Just so ya' know, colibrí is the Spanish word for hummingbird. Aguila (eagle, BTW) makes their Colibri as a very low-powered .22LR ammo. They even caution against shooting it from long barrels, as it may or may not make it to the muzzle. Super Colibri has a pinch of powder. I've used that on squirrels at close range. A grand for a brick of Colibri? Buy an airgun and save a lot of money. I have words in Spanish I'd use, but I'm tryin' to keep this family friendly.

Anyone paying $1,000 for this stuff and thinking it's regular .22LR ammo is gonna be real disappointed! This is like the definition of caveat emptor.
Its sad when the price of the ammo exceeds the price of the mag by double. Thats what it is with 223/556 and pmags right now.
Got a notice form a local area shop today saying they got two pallets of steel-cased Tula in .223 and 7.62x39.
The .223 is $10 a box (.50 cents per round) with a five box per customer limit and the 7.62 stuff is $20 per 40rd box with a two box per customer limit.
The shop is about forty miles away in the middle of a little crossroads town and a couple weeks ago someone posted a video showing folks lined up nearly a 1/8 mile down the street because only five people at a time can go in (three hour wait to get in). No way in hades my back would ever hold up that long.
Call them up.
They may be able to do something.
Delivery, skip the line, something.
If you get to skip the line you might not want your prosthesis, jumped conclusions and all. ;D
They are such a small family shop and so busy that actually getting through by phone is nothing short of miraculous.
Your last line made me think of this guy....funny I just saw it yesterday. ;D ;D
Speaking of that. My mom gets hers today at 1. She had 2 prototypes. The guy that built it has come to her house 4 times now. It cracks me up, he says your insurance/ Medicare pays for X, but we know they don't last that long so hers x+ 1 or 2.
Like suspesion sleeves. They pay before 2. He said most people get 3-6 months with them. Here is 4, if you need a 5th just call. We don't ever want some one to not have something. The misses use to work at shriners sacramento. Turns out she knows the guy, he made all the really exotic stuff for the kids there.
I have no complaints
Wicked glad to hear that.

Some days I wonder why the hell she said yes. It certainly wasn't for my looks, money or personality. I am ugly, was in the hole almost 1 mill when we met and I am a jerk.
Take my advice BTDT.
To paraphrase Tuco, "If you got a keeper, KEEP HER" ;D
Had to add that. ;D ;D
Take my advice BTDT.
Do what ever it takes to make her happy .
And TELL her, apparently they like to hear it out loud.
From one jerk to another, that isn't what I did so it will probably work. :D
To paraphrase Tuco, "If you got a keeper, KEEP HER" ;D
Had to add that. ;D ;D
Well I am not really ugly, and I have had a 6 pack most of my life. Everything else is true. Well ok I am not really a jerk, but I do a damn fine job of hiding that I am a nice guy.
I found a box of UMC 9mm Ball that I had, looked at the price tag, $7.99 for 50, date on tag is 7/14/99. Showed it to my wife and told her I could probably get $60.00 for it now. She asked why don't I sell it,Told her I couldn't replace it for that.Ah,The good old days of cheap ammo.
I can't count the CCI Blazer Brass I have stockpiled in both 9 MM and .45 ACP from Wal-Mart. I would buy it 10 boxes at a time for $7.99 @ box, and $9.99 @ box. Now they're knocking each other over to pay $1.00 a round. The insanity continues.my ammo stock pile has far exceed my stocks in increased value lol
my ammo stock pile has far exceed my stocks in increased value lol
That NRA ad was right,
INVEST IN PRECIOUS METALS !
They just picked the wrong metals to consider "Precious",
lead is doing FAR better than Gold or Silver. ;D
My spiel is "Lead, silver and gold...the three precious metals.
Absolutely correct. At least until now. Gold and silver went down a good bit Friday....gold had been trending down mostly the entire week. If you have it now may be the time to by some silver or gold to counter the inflation (a little insurance maybe not an investment) coming our way. I think the stock market tanks by end of summer and later this year I suspect inflation will begin to eat us up.
The inflation scares me. I can total see a million being worth what 100k is at the end of bidens term. While yes that would hurt, it will really not effect me as everything I have is paided off. Its the people that have significantly less that I worry about.
I have never been a preper, but I do have 30 days worth of food on hand, a 72 hour kit a 2700 gallon water storege tank, 500 gal of diesel ( off road) and naturally guns and ammo.
I am not religious by any means, and I know there have been lots of the sky is falling stuff. But I do remember as a kid being told that the world trade centers would burn by air craft and the constitution would hang by a thread in the later days.
The people who made out best during the Wiemar Republic were people who had things like Home loans .
3,000,000 Marks might not have bought a loaf of bread, but it sure knocked hell out of a 25,000 M home loan.
Exactly. Unless you have an adjustable rate mortgage....
re:paying off your mortgage.... unless you have a prick demanding that the bill be paid in person...didn't work so well for Martha Custis Lee... her husband, Robert, was out of town for work, she was justifiably worried about her safety, so a servant was sent with the money, but it was not accepted... unable to pay the mortgage on their Virginia estate it was defaulted to the US government...to add to the insult then they buried Yankees in her rose garden...
always a good trivia question... what was the name of the Custis-Lee mansion?
I always thought it humorous that Union tombstones had rounded tops, while Confederate tombstones were pointed to keep the Yankees from sitting on them
Like Rastus, retired and drawing down. My retirement funds (403s and 401s) are still set for moderate growth. Miss Kitty and I are drawing those down to zero on a 20year plan. Enjoy the money, travel, etc. The idea is that until we're 90 we can/will travel as much as we like. After that it'll be more stay-at-home life.....
My concern is the big drop. I see a fork in the road. If the commies (aka demoncrats) take over it's over. The plans the left has will deprive anyone who worked and saved of what they earned. Or, the demoncrats lose elections (right...cheating bastards) and people turn right. On one side what is saved doesn't matter...hell, the state may end up owning your house...and on the other side the damage may take a decade or two to repair. Either option is not good for anyone especially old people. I guess we are to blame though...for not whipping ass when we should have.
I think having something real like land is good for the better of the two options. Having enough gold and silver to pay the property taxes would be a good idea.
The Wal-Mart here still rarely has ANY 12 gauge ammo. I'm hoping that will get better as the long hot desert Summer ensues. People out here don't care to shoot outdoors when it's 120 F in the shade. I still have well over half a ton of shot, 32 pounds of powder, and several cases of wads. Not to mention around 10,000 #209 shotshell primers.
I'm seriously thinking about selling them off at these incredible prices, and just buy ammo from here on out. The only problem is I have to do one before I can do the other. Then I'll be left without either ammo OR reloading supplies. That's not an advantageous position to be in at this, or any other time.
I got an email yesterday from Tactical Sh*t titled, .22 LR New Low Prices✔✔
When I clicked on the main thing it was Armscor .22lr 36gr JHP 500rd Brick = $124.95 https://shop.tacticalshit.com/armscor-22lr-36gr-jhp-500rd-brick
If these are the New Low Prices I'm sure as heck glad I don't have to pay the Old High Prices. That's still 10 times what I'm willing to pay. Of course things will change as I use up my supply, but I hardly shoot anymore. I'll have to put some rounds through my 10/22 this summer to try out my 110 round drum mag.
Jesus Christ, $12.50 @ box for .22's!
Federal is a sponsor of the 2021 USPSA LoCap Nationals this week.that is not terrible
Federal made available 500 or 1,000 round boxes of 9mm 150gr Syntech Action Pistol ammo for competitors at $26.99 a box. Yes, that's 54cents a round. But yes they have it.
I was at a gun show this weekend and saw .22 rimfire for $150.00 for a 500 round brick.I don't know if they sold any of it,But I sure as hell wasn't going to pay that much.I have a small fortune in my ammo locker at those prices.
If you REALLY want to show off your wealth, Put a box of 9MM through a sheet of plywood.
Or hell, these days you can trade them for a new truck!
Have you seen how both Ford and Chevy have thousands of trucks sitting waiting on chips?
I'll point out again...it's good to have common calibers that police and military use for a potential future black market source.
......... Palmetto is selling a 1,260 round crate of Yugo 123 gr. 7.62x39 for $700. Way more than I'll pay but down from $900.
Omg so today my neighbor gave me 850 rounds of .30 carbine. So I really appreciate the Ammo but I have nothing to shoot it out of. I had an iver Johnson carbine but it got stolen out of my truck. So I guess I’m going to shop for a new gun😂
An area dealer that always has the lowest prices during times like these posted last week that he still had a pallet of 9mm and was selling for $20 per 50rd box.hell buy it and resell it at that price
hell buy it and resell it at that price
I think he still has a 2 box limit per customer. The last time I went by there (his shop is 50 miles away) the line to get in was 1/4 mile long. ;D
They have some bulk 9 mm, but there 223 offering is pretty sad.
They did have lots of dangerous game stuff. You know squirrel ammo.
Federal won’t ship to Massopoopshits!Or the peoples republic of NY.
Brownell's just sent me a notice. They have Federal 115 and 124gr 9mm in stock at $0.50/rd. Doesn't appear to be a limit.
Apologies to Kevin, but Ammoman has never been the cheapest supplier, HOWVER, I just got an email and they have bulk Federal 9mm 147gr, AE9FP, for $0.485 / rd. Nine cents LESS then Federal's price. Plus Federal has a 200 round limit per order.Kevin is a good guy, but Ammo Seek ALWAYS finds better prices.
And I assume everyone's seen the USPSA partnership with CH Precision to bust the prices.
CH Precision has Federal 9mm (not that EU trash) for $0.355/rd. Of course they sold 500,000 in 60seconds the first day, but you can get on their mailing list for notification when they're taking more orders. I think they said they're getting something like 2.5million rounds a month.

Have you seen 22LR ?
It's nuts. :o
$5.00 a box is cheap, I saw a guy at a gun show recently that was asking $150.00 for a brick of 500 Winchester .22 ,stuff that used to go for $15.00 on sale. And there were idiots paying it.
I just bought 10k Winchester large pistol primers...
I was starting to think they didn't exhist.
Sounds like bragging to me....!!
;D
I didn't mention price.... I paid 60/1000. ;D
...so I'll stick with Steel Challenge for a while, but a match is minimum of 150 rounds if you don't miss 8)
a match is minimum of 150 rounds if you don't miss 8)
So I would probably need 300-450 rounds. ;D
Sadly,....me too.
So my LGS, my favorite LGS, is a big time dealer in S&B ammo. They got tons of it. So much that they've lowered the prices on 9mm, .45 and 5.56mm.
9mm 155gr S&B is 38.70 cents a round right now. They're a little hesitant to go more than 10 boxes a day. Since I'm there two days a week no problem stocking up.
Nope. Not on the CDNN Sports web site.
I was at a gun show this weekend and saw .22 rimfire for $150.00 for a 500 round brick.I don't know if they sold any of it,But I sure as hell wasn't going to pay that much.I have a small fortune in my ammo locker at those prices.
SO THERE I WAS. There I was.
The Beretta 2021 LOCAP USPSA Nationals presented by Federal (Want to guess how many times we heard that? 20 to be exact.)
I opted for the Match Certified ammo, just so I could buy 1,000 rounds of it. Federal Syntech AP 150gr. I had never used it before. But now I was committed to shooting it. I knew a) It would probably work flawlessly. I mean it's Federal's good stuff designed specifically for compeititon. b) It wouldn't make power factor. c) I had no idea where my Point of Impact was going to be.
First shots were at 9am and I was on bay C2. Warm up range was on A5, 1/4 mile away, and guess what? No shooting before... guess... 9am. I went into the first stage cold with new ammo. a) It shot flawlessly. b) It was light shooting and by the skin of my teeth I mad PF on the last test shot (#7) (125.05). Of course had it not then the MD would have give me a wavier. c) Pretty much went where my reloaded 147gr rounds went.
AND I HAVE 500+ ROUNDS LEFT OVER. Bwahh-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha.
I may be out of the $9.90/brick ammo I got on sale way back when, but I still have a couple bricks of newer ammo. You can bet your last dollar, your life, your wife, your trusty old hound, etc., I didn't pay that much for it. Probably not even 1/10 of that.
The price is going up from here. Commercial use of Lake City is history for now. Vista just sold out to a foreign entity too.

And yes, I just bought some self-defense ammo to keep a fresh supply.
Midway USA still has IMI which is great, long lasting ammo. M855 SS109 in stripper clips with speed loaders: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/102559224?pid=325832 (https://www.midwayusa.com/product/102559224?pid=325832)
Yeah that wouldn't be my favorite round. If I had a need for something like that I'd go with my 44 mag integrally suppressed Ruger and a 320 or larger grain bullet for 2X the power. Which, by the way, work great on deer.
Thanks, Frank....
I get an almost daily email from PSA, but I've missed several due to family health issues and unplanned travels...... I just ordered some for myself. I have a ton of 00 Buck in stock, but a few more can't possibly hurt. ;D ;D
I am looking for some mk 263 mod 1c....
<snip>
Palmetto State Armory has Norma MHP 9 MM self defense ammo for just $7.99 @ box. (20). Free shipping if you order 10+ boxes. That is a steal, and comes to just .40 cents a round.

Dadgummit that is a good price.
Oh well, I gotta pass. I'm in a quarrel with PSA and won't order anything from them. They insist on shipping FedEx and 1/2 my deliveries are way late or damaged or lost. The USPS does better than FedEx where I am...that should say it all. All I want is to be able to do is to ship using an alternate carrier.....
It used to be with the sellers that you could pick your carrier....not now. Or if you do...I get FedEx anyway...and don't get my package the way I should.
UPS dropped my ten boxes off on the back porch around 10:30 this morning.
Ordered the 11th and delivered on the 14th..... not bad....I've experienced way worse.
As a side note, I like how PSA wraps the ammo in plastic wrap. Never had any other shipper do that before.
Thankfully I had witnesses and cameras to show I wasn’t the aggressor. I was gassing up my car and these two 💩 for brains attempted to rob me. One had a shank and the other had a bat. I was able to get clear of the pump and give myself room to work. I threw my keys under the car which distracted shank nuts. Bat boy looked over and that’s when I went to work. Let’s say human bodies don’t like hitting concrete. DA dropped the charges eventually but it cost me a pretty penny in lawyer fees.
Found cci mini mags for 8.99 a box. I bought 12 boxes and I finally got a new collector series 10/22 with the winter camo. I also realized I’ve got 5 10/22’s😂
Slacker.
I kid I have zero 10/22s..... I do have 4 nylon 66s. ;D
I've got just one nylon 66, but I really like that gun and could do more if the opportunity comes up.
Good sale. Dang shame they insist on shipping to me FedEx...I just don't buy anything where I am restricted to FedEx anymore. They screw up so much on deliveries where I am they are not worth the trouble.
For any work stuff I make certain I specify NOT FedEx on business shipments.

FedEx in our region is a joke....and if you order anything via wally world and several other place they are the only option....which is why I hardly ever order from them.
I once ordered a new laptop years ago and FedEx left it laying in the middle of the driveway twenty yards from the house.
its not just FED UP that pulls that shit.
if i had a nickel for every time i was at a home all day or in my truck waiting for an inspector to show up but they never did. you really want to call them out on it, but you really cant.
