Mossberg vs Benelli
« on: August 26, 2013, 10:49:25 AM »
The Robertsons have switched from Benelli to Mossberg.  Mossberg released that the promotions will go along with family values, and there will be a couple Duck Commander series.

I look forward to see how this pairing shakes out in terms of promotions and exhibitions.  Hopefully we will see Mossberg going back to the promotions and exhibitions that Winchester and Benelli recently quit.

Between these guys and "Pawn Stars" they consume about 90% of The History Channel's view time.

Good for us!  At least with the Robertsons on A&E and the outdoor channels with hunting shows.

Good solid family values and relationships, and firearms and their use as a normal part of life.

You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.

Made my choice last saturday. There are no camo shorts or beards, but this Mossy 500 will do the trick. I looked at some others... Ithaca 37 with wood furniture...it was nice but not nice enough for the money. Then there was the Mossy M5(?) the military version of the 500?  It was also nicer but it don't need that nice.
This little matte baby will do just fine for blowing s**t up I think.

So I had to see if it works...blew the crap out of some stuff. The birdshot does some real shredding at 10 yards.

Maggie has a 20 gauge and doesn't even want to TOUCH this thing. Considering she weighs 100 pounds if you throw a bucket of water on her, she's probably being smart.

THe great thing about the 37 is it loads and ejects from the bottum.   very little chance of getting hit with a hull or having something like a stick getting into the action in a blind.  Which will shut down any shot gun,   i don't care what it is.   trust me it sucks being in a blind to the right.  About the only thing more distracting while  taking a bead on a bird is a lady friend taking off her wadders.   :)
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

Browning's BPS is on the Ithaca 37 pattern with bottom load/eject.

I just removed some pitting and re-blued a section of barrel (under the forearm) on one for a co-worker of my son's.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
