NFL & It's Tax Exempt Status

The NFL organization is tax exempted by Congress.  If they want to be politically active they should "buy a room" so to speak by losing their tax exempt status or become a non-profit organization.  I bet that would go over real big.

Just my 2 cents.  It seems as though the NFL is wanting to shape social politics and with a liberal/Marxist slant....as in they appear to be willing tools....so they should become a non-profit or pay taxes and be investigated by the IRS, etc.

How many teams have bought or paid real price for a stadium??  They are mostly public supported and publicly financed on the local and state levels and if there is a rent it's heavily subsidized by the public. 

I'm contacting my US Rep and US Senators about moving to remove the NFL's tax exemption.

I don't want to tie political speech or activism to tax exempt status, because that will open a can of worms for many properly operating tax exempt organizations, such as watch dog groups, educational organizations, and religious organizations.  However, how did a multi-billion dollar business like the National Football League ever become tax exempt in the first place?  This is akin to not taxing General Motors because they are the head of six automobile companies.

You can throw the NCAA into this mess as well. Denying rights and running roughshod over schools is just so not American! For reference, see UND and the Fighting Sioux. UND had a number of Dakota tribes saying that the name and image were respectful and were supportive of its continued use. The libtards at NCAA decided otherwise and forced the school to drop the name and image.

Actually I don't like any corporation or company leaning politically...they have the same rights of a citizen but everyone knows that is a paper trick and in politics it provides the rich and powerful a playing field leveled against individual citizens.  So..if that company makes some commodity you need they indirectly are using your money to finance their politics...even if you disagree. 

Keep paper tricks out of politics....they don't breath, bleed or die like people they don't need to influence politics like people.

And as far as the NFL...all that United Way crap they support for touchy feely supports people like COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS and the like.  Flush that tax exemption.

This is the problem right here - they should not have rights, they are a corporation, not a person. The fact that they have "rights" is what let's them take political stands and provides the rich and powerful access to politicians where you and I do not.
