I figured out how to take a picture of the back of the knife which couldn't be balanced. I was digging around the corner of my desk and stuck 2 old hinges I found in the space in the handle. When I pressed one in as far as it would go sideways, the knife stayed upright. I sent an email to Schrade or whoever owns the brand now and asked if they could resharpen my knife since it hasn't been able to cut anything in decades. I told them the edge was so dull I could see it, it was so bad I could see the whole thing. Then I used a carbide sharpener on it. They said to send pics and I told them I didn't think the pics would show how dull it is, but I just sent them anyway, and I'll see what they say. The blade has no side to side play at all after I did some hammering on it one year, but the lock must be worn. The blade moves up and down a little bit. It would be nice to get that fixed, even if they do put Chinese parts in my American knife. But the blade is so dull I think it needs to be reground.
