To FQ's question; ""WHO's behind it?"" (it's early, so the answer is, World Health Organization)...

Don't you want Globalization? They know so much better than us...

Might be baaaaadddddd for you. >:(

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Got a letter from one of my senators (Chambliss-R, Ga.) who co-sponsored the 'original' bill, in which he says he no longer supports it in its form because of 'changes' made 'behind closed doors.

I am definitely writing him and newly re-elected senator Isakson with comments.

From Senator Chambliss today:
Quote
Dear Friends:

The Senate reconvened this week following a six-week break. The Food Safety Modernization Act (S. 510) was up for debate on the Senate floor and we are expected to take it up again following the Thanksgiving break.

I am an original co-sponsor of the food safety bill. However, several changes have been made to the bill behind closed doors that are concerning to me – particularly the gaps in the food safety inspection program and the costs associated with this legislation. Additionally, I am concerned senators will not have the opportunity to offer amendments on the Senate floor to allow for an open and transparent debate. For these reasons, I voted against the motion to proceed to the bill.

I will carefully review the implications of the changes that will be made to this legislation before determining if I can support the bill when it comes to a vote for final passage.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
