Marshall, I posted a llink to this page over on rugerforum.com, and the boys over there are quite skeptical about the 87,000 number and think maybe it should be 8,700.

I gotta say, watching that new DRTV video on the LCP makes me want one.  Hope they prove equally reliable with hollowpoints. When MB gets time to do a fuller road test, maybe he can convince Black Hills to send a supply of their fine .380 JHP ammo tipped with 90 gr Hornady XTP.

Six + 1 of .380 isn't as comforting as five of .38 Special +P "FBI Load" in my Taurus pocket snubby, but I bet I could find a useful carry mission for the LCP, in zero-profile situations where one absolutely doesn't want to be "made." 

An airweight snubby revolver isn't heavy, but it has the round cylinder, that can protrude in ways a little flat auto wouldn't.

Maybe some Buffalo Bore ammo would be the answer, the problem with a .380 ,if you shoot someone and they find out, they may get mad.

Just checked with my local gunshop, and they had not heard that Ruger was shipping as Marshal had mentioned. I did find out that they upped their backorder from the2/3 that I heard of originally, to 6, and now 24. He told to me check back on Monday to see if they showed up.

Mouse gun maybe, but when you can't ever be detected as carrying, a slim little auto like this will come in handy.
