you can get a snail mag for a 1911.  its like either 25-30 shots, just good luck trying to hold a site picture.

I can't help but wonder...  What was it you missed, or weren't able to stop with the first 7-10 rounds most pistol magazines carry?   

For near 50 years the largest Kodiak bear ever taken was killed with a single bullet.

 The Drum Mags for the Luger were designed for the German Navy and Artillery where troops were not generally issued rifles or space was at a premium but effective sub machine guns were not yet available.
The Army model of the PO8  had a 4 inch barrel, The Navy and Artillery models were considerably longer and could be fitted with a shoulder stock to serve as a carbine.
