As most here know, I moved from North Dakota to Kentucky 2-1/2 years ago after marrying my high school sweetheart. I just wanted to share 2 things gun-related that have happened recently. Note that carrying in church in ND is essentially against the law.
#1: A week ago, in church in KY, a large Baptist church I have been attending, we had a guest preacher who happens also to be the current president of the Kentucky Baptist Convention. A sharp, entertaining guy from a Louisville church as it turns out. Anyhow, he's talking about how he works with women to help them out of abusive and unhealthy relationships, especially of the un-married kind.
So he's talking as he walks across in front of the platform, and he's describing how he likes to take 5 or 6 large Brothers (in Christ) with him to help the woman move her things out, and in case of trouble with the man in the relationship. He then goes on to say, as he climbs the stairs back to the platform, almost over his shoulder, that "this being Kentucky, I know that at least 5 or 6 of them are carrying"!
#2: Yesterday, I volunteered to work security at an upcoming concert at the church, something I had done a number of times for my church Fargo, as well as being part of the church security team. This was my first offer to the local church here in KY. Late yesterday afternoon, I received an email from the woman heading up the program for this concert, gratefully accepting my offer, and then asking, almost in an "Oh, by the way" manner, do I carry?
Man, I love Kentucky!!!!!
