New (used) toy
« on: May 30, 2010, 09:50:38 PM »
Was out with the Wife the other night and stopped at Gander Mtn just to kill some time. Was looking at the used pistols and they had a Keltec P-3AT on the shelf for $199.99. I asked to see it and when I checked it out it looked unfired. Salesman told me the guy bought it and couldn't find any ammo so he traded it back in. I put it on layaway right then. Should have it in a week or so. And yes, I do know where to find ammo for it... ;D ;D

Gun porn to follow once I get it in my possession.

Nice find Majer, you know too well, I have posted my thumbs up about my "leetle" P3AT.  Good price to boot.

Likes lube, likes a little fluff & buff, likes a break in.  That's it.

I prefer the mag extension, your mileage may vary. It is what it is, an up close line in the sand defensive pistol, loaded with Cor-Bon, Speer GD,  or other top shelf  defensive ammo, makes it a very effective pocket pistol.

(That Ruger LCP copied) ;)

Congratulations!

1 thing I have discovered with my P32.  You have to make a conscious effort to remember you have it with you.
After always carrying 1911's or full size revolvers I find carrying the Kel Tec is just like not carrying at all, only safer.  ;D
(Be careful when you go to the PO. )  ;D

Agreed with all of the above. I hate, hate, hate the trigger. But that said, its a good gun for a great price and their CS is about the best in the business. I would send it in for the fluff and buff, it will either be cheap or free. Good buy.

trigger on my KT is great
Its 8 pounds with no break point like a Glock. Just slow and heavy and no way to know when its going to go BANG. Personally, I prefer being able to take up the slack and then know that putiing that extra (5.5 pounds in the Glocks case) will make it go boom. Its a just a personal thing. I would trust my life to a a Kel-tec and at $200? You can't even begin to argue with it.

I have the p32 and I believe that these types of little pistols have successfully replaced change in the pockets of those of us with carry permits.

eric, thanks for the links, I bookmarked them and will look them over real soon. I'm really looking forward to shooting this little pistol, it will make a nice BUG to my main carry gun.

FQ, What is this "Fluff & Buff" of which you speak? Is it a Factory service or is it something I can do myself? I have worked on most of my guns at one time or another and am fairly handy at gunsmithing .Thanks for the info.
