My area Davidson's private dealer shows $248+ tax & shipping. Sounds to be competitive with the Kel-Tec pricing.

I'll probably be getting one with my 'economic stimulus' money.

I am having some problems with 87k this would be a HUGE roll out.

Kel Tec is making some 50,000+ per year so I can believe the 87,000. People who would not buy a Kel Tec will happily buy the Ruger because it says Ruger.

The real proof will be if Ruger has indeed made the 380 Kel Tec a 100% reliable gun. I still pack a P32 because I feel the P3AT was "on the edge" design wise. LGS friend reports returning more 380s than 32s. If Ruger has not solved the reliability problem then this could be the Colt All American 2000 of this decade.

 The question is , is it a Kel-Tec clone? Why would you buy one if kel-tecs are cheaper. Kel-tecs have great customer service and a great functional reputation.  I dont see the point.

Question for folks, I have talked with the local gunshop who now has 6 LCP's on order, and he is telling me that Ruger will not ship until they can fill all of the pre-orders. Anyone else run into this? Has anyone seen the LCP in stores as yet?

" Unless  Ruger publically lists all the orders...I can't prove to anyone the numbers.. so if people think I'm lying.. then they'll just have to think it.. I was standing right beside Marshal at the Shot Show when they told us that already ( and this was Monday Feb. 4th) they had orders for 60,000 Ruger LCP's. They were flabbergasted to say the least, but so excited as these numbers far far exceeded normal sales.
And you can believe it or not boys... but when we talked to them the other day.. the number WAS 87,000.
It is higher than that now.

NOT 8,700... but 87,000 and rising.

Believe it ...or not!
