I dont have a problem sending my gun to the factory for repair. Maybe its just me but I have more than one firearm on hand just in case.

If gun G shoots as well as gun X but I can fix anything short of a KABOOM on gun G in my living room, I'll buy gun G.

In less than 30 seconds, you can replace the extractor on the "G" gun.

I've thought about it.... but not until they come out with a .45 single stack subcompact or I break down and buy a 19.

They do have a single stack 45. The G36.

'Course like other baby Glocks - a little on the thick side, it may not fit your criteria for "subcompact".

Actually that is the one I was thinking of, but I meant a single stack 9mm.  I need to get a hold of a 36 and try it out.

9mm I think you're outta luck. A slim G26 would be SWEET.
The 36 I shot was very similar to my 27 as far as recoil but I haven't shot it that much....neither has it's owner. He and I bought SIG 226s about the same time - years and years ago. His still has black outside on top of the chamber, mine looks like chrome.
