How Much Longer?
« on: October 18, 2011, 09:03:31 AM »
So lets place some bets on how much longer the US exists as a Republic (already gone??). I guess we could do a matrix like the final four setup except there are only 2 teams. The time-frame is the variable ranging from 3 months to 6 months. It may happen earlier or later for bonus points, but it will happen & in the near term.

Prepare, including your family & friends. 1929 will be a picnic compared to this - something we have never seen before - like Germany or Russia or China or Vietnam or Korea or ......  get the picture yet?

Any other ideas? Are you ready?

The "Republic" started ailing in 1932 and finally died in the 60's.

The Republic was killed in 1861.  It was driven further into the ground in 1913 with the passage of the Federal Reserve Act and the shady shoving through of the 16th amendment.  It was stomped on yet again in 1933 with the passage of House Joint Resolution 192.  Then there was Nixon ending Bretton Woods and dishonoring the obligation to redeem the dollar for gold in 1971.  The PATRIOT (sic) Act was another nail in the coffin as well as the Military Commissions Act.  Also the bailouts of 2008.  We live under a system of government where the president can, without any due process (charges, arrest, trial by jury), execute a citizen.  This can hardly be considered a republic.

There have now been multiple generations of Americans taught in the youth propaganda camps (government schools) that government is god.  The vast majority of Americans have been so hopelessly indoctrinated with statism that they have absolutely no concept of the rule of law.  They now believe in "might makes right" because the god they worship (government) rules them at gunpoint, so the logical assumption is that this is a good thing  The vast majority of Americans, regardless of which side of the false left/right paradigm they identify with (R or D), are now social democrats.  They have no problem with other people's rights being violated as long as it does not affect them or those they care about.  They don't mind government holding up strangers at gunpoint if it is to their benefit.  But they will squeal like hell when the tyranny they have endorsed comes down on them.  They have no understanding that when one person's rights are violated, every person's rights are violated.

Are we talking a crash in the monetary system?   Or are we talking about when elections are suspended?

I could go with a monetary crash, super inflation, oh, about any time.   6months is as good as guess as any.

Elections (the true end of the republic) will be suspended closer to November 2012.   If I were a doomsday person, I'd be stocked up and secured behind the barricades on election night.   That's the most likely time for a manufactured crisis.

Just my observation.  I'm frequently wrong and hope especially that I am again in this case.

I don't know about Pops, but I'm talking about the Constitutional Republic being overthrown by the mob rule Democracy that is currently fading into socialist dictatorship.

I think he's talking about a Russia style revolution like the one against the Czars.  (I do miss their coffee stands though.)  I could be wrong.

I do not see the election being suspended.  Especially if someone like Cain gets the GOP nomination.  It will be the true test to see if this country is still "Center-Right" or has turned "Center-Left".

I do see inflation, but I wouldn't call it hyper-inflation.  Just the same hike in prices like those in the Carter ADM and early Reagan years.  (As A kid I saw comics go from 50 cents to 2.75 in that time.)

My biggest fear in the lack of jobs, the bubbling anger world wide, and the push towards isolation and protectionism.  This is what led to WW-II.  Are we on the same path?

I wouldn't sweat it. According to the Mayans the world is supposed to end in 2012. At the very least you conservatives can go to the grave saying that it was all Obama's fault. Me of course, I'll take a page out of W's playbook when he blamed Clinton for the recession. After all, these things take time to build. I'll be blaming Bush when the asteroids hit. ;D
