back to your original question.

My son is building out an AR and I just bought a lower parts kit for him from Red Barn Armory,
http://www.redbarnarmory.com/default.asp

The unique thing is you can start with a basic kit and then substitute options.  I wanted a Timney trigger and I already have a spare grip.  So I upgraded the trigger option and deleted the grip.  I get the trigger and  my son gets the rest of the lower parts, plus my spare grip and my standard trigger.  Basically I got my trigger upgrade for $175 and he got a complete lower parts kit for about $35.

TAB.... a good friend and tekkie has been shooting a 9x25 for a lot of years... he built a MecTec carbine (straight blowback) chambered for it.... he decided that when the ejected brass was no longer a bottleneck, but blown back into a straight wall case, it was time to quit....

a mektech is a pistol(glock or 1911) with a blow back upper.     its just a toy any ways.  Might see 500 rounds a year.   its more becuase i can then anything else.    i am not looking for a hunter( this would actually be pretty nice as one) a games gun or sd.   i don't need a zombie gun as i have better options.

It's okay, I had an upper for 5 years before it got its own lower.

I'm all caught up now.  Equal number of Uppers and Lowers.  I think my next project is moving on to the 10/22 project.   If I can just find a cheap, bunged up 10/22 starter.

Looking forward to hearing about the completed project.

Nobody hates to see UPS.
It may not be something you want, but you think it is .  ;D
I would like to get a 10/22 target and put an MG-42 kit on it with a beta mag and Aim Point. could use the bipod from a Ruger Charger.

American Express started out as a freight company.
Years ago, early 1900's, they delivered a case of explosives to an old farmer near here on a rainy day, the box got wet so he put it in the oven to dry.
It's been called "Dynamite Corner" ever since.  ;D
