I just bought a new Spyderco matriarch. I have wanted one of these for a while and found one on Ebay for $66, about half price. I particularly love the warning tag, "This knife is not designed for use as a utility knife, and using it as such will void the warranty". Yeah, we all know what its designed for. It was built for UC cops who weren't trained with a blade, to do maximum damage in a CQB environment. Its basically a claw. Rip and tear. Now whether I actually want to carry this thing for an EDC knife versus a more utilitarian knife like my Kershaw or Delica is an open question. Still, its a cool toy. I should get it midweek. At that point I will post a range report. But right now I am psyched. It is a new shiny toy. I'm curious as to whether it lives up to the hype. Assuming I don't cut off a finger (or something more vital)
I will post a range report.
