Chicken Verde. I had some tangy tomatillo sauce left over and ate it with Spicy Nacho Doritos.

I just started eating a Honeycrisp apple pie. Honeycrisp is one of my favorite apples to eat raw and it tastes good cooked too. I thought it was across between a Fuji apple and some other kind, but this is what Wikipedia says.

U.S. Plant Patent 7197 and Report 225-1992 (AD-MR-5877-B) from the Horticultural Research Center indicated that the Honeycrisp was a hybrid of the apple cultivars 'Macoun' and 'Honeygold'. However, genetic fingerprinting conducted by a group of researchers in 2004, which included those who were attributed on the US plant patent, determined that neither of these cultivars is a parent of the Honeycrisp. It found that one parent was a hybrid of the Keepsake (itself a hybrid of Frostbite (MN447) x Northern Spy)[10] while the other was identified in 2017 as the unreleased University of Minnesota selection MN1627. The grandparents of Honeycrisp on the MN1627 side are the Duchess of Oldenburg and the Golden Delicious.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honeycrisp

I saw SugarBee apples in the store for the first time today. SugarBee (CN121)[1] was discovered in the early 1990s and is believed to be the result of an accidental cross-pollination between a Honeycrisp and another, unknown variety.

Little Debbie Swiss Rolls ice cream made by Hudsonville Ice Cream. After 98 years of making ice cream and doing nothing else, they've gotten good at it.

At Hudsonville we have been making real ice cream, using the same base recipe since 1926. We pride ourselves in creating delicious, high-quality ice cream that is made with the freshest ingredients and crafted with exceptional care. We believe that ice cream is a treat that should be savored, and we strive to provide our customers with the best possible experience. Our ice cream is made using locally sourced cream and milk. Our ice cream is made using a process that starts with selecting the finest ingredients and then we use our best-in-class technology and methods to ensure that our ice cream is rich, creamy, smooth and packed with flavor.

We have been a full-time ice cream manufacturer, and we’ve never looked back. Hudsonville Ice Cream was originally founded by Dick Hoezee, who grew the business to tremendous heights until the company was sold to the Ellens family in 2003. Our facilities were soon relocated from Hudsonville, MI, to the nearby town of Holland, MI, which has spurred the growth that you see before you today. The move enabled Hudsonville Ice Cream to acquire unprecedented manufacturing capacity, mix-making and bulk handling equipment, new fillers, an additional hardening freezer, fully automated packaging and palletizing, best-in-class robotics, a new dry goods warehouse and one of the largest cold freezers in the industry.

Hudsonville was platted in 1873, soon after the Chicago and West Michigan Railway was extended to that point.[5] The town was named for Homer E. Hudson, a pioneer settler, who was also the town's first postmaster.[6] The early settlement of Hudsonville was next to a swamp, which hampered early development. In 1872, construction of the Chicago and West Michigan Railroad was completed. The railroad brought more settlers to the area, including many Dutch immigrants.

Holland was settled in 1847 by Dutch Calvinist separatists, under the leadership of Dr. Albertus van Raalte. Dire economic conditions in the Netherlands compelled them to emigrate, while their desire for religious freedom led them to unite and settle together as a group.

The city suffered a major fire on October 8–10, 1871, at the same time as the Great Chicago Fire in Illinois and the very deadly Peshtigo Fire in Wisconsin. Due to the Great Michigan Fire (which included the Port Huron Fire of 1871), Manistee and Port Huron, Michigan, also burned at the same time. Also known as the Great Midwest fires, the series of fires across Michigan claimed approximately 500 lives, though the exact death toll remains unknown. The vast majority of downtown burned in the fire, claiming 1 life in the aftermath of the fire. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown. There are a number of theories about what caused the fire. The congruence with the Chicago fire has led to some claims of a link, such as embers floating over Lake Michigan to start the Holland Fire. However, one of the theories are rather fantastical and fairly unlikely, that burning methane gas from a passing comet lead to the fires. The most likely explanation remains that strong winds strengthened a small brush fire, first igniting the nearby forests before burning the town itself. However, no definitive explanation for the fires have ever been given, and the exact cause remains unknown.

Each May, Holland hosts an annual Tulip Time Festival. Tulip planting and the festival began in 1930 when 250,000 tulips were planted for the event. Currently six million tulips are used throughout the city. Tulips are planted along many city streets, in city parks and outside municipal buildings as well as at tourist attractions like Dutch Village, the city-owned Windmill Island Gardens, and at a large tulip farm named Veldheer Tulip Gardens. It is normally held the second week of May, during the tulip blooming season. Cruise ships such as the Yorktown from the Great Lakes Cruising Company make Holland a port of call. About one million tourists visit Tulip Time each year.

In 1964, the City of Holland purchased the windmill De Zwaan from a retired miller in the town of Vinkel in the province of North Brabant, the Netherlands. The windmill was shipped from the Netherlands to the port of Muskegon, Michigan on the ship Prins Willem van Oranje. It was brought by truck from Muskegon to its present location on Windmill Island. Reconstruction of the mill began in 1964 and the park opened in April 1965. The island, formerly farmed by Henry F. Koop, was chosen because of the favorable wind conditions there. Although originally a peninsula, a manmade canal turned the land into an artificial island. Before the arrival of De Zwaan, it was known as Hyma Island.

On April 10, 1965, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands became the first visitor to the park and presided over the grand opening. His ticket and the ten guilder bill he used to purchase it are still on display in the park today.

Screamin’ Sicilian Supreme Pizza Bowl, Nothin’ But Toppings. It's too salty and would be better on a slice of bread, but it's still not too bad. Yesterday I had an Italian Style Meatball Pizza Bowl. Screamin’ Sicilian is one of the best frozen pizzas I've tried. I like their Mambo Italiano with pepperoni and Italian meatballs.

I ate 1.5 pounds of baby back ribs with maplewood smoked sauce, a pint of Little Debbie Zebra Cakes ice cream for dessert, then a bunch of Lay's Crispy Taco flavored potato chips. I'm so stuffed  can barely move, but I need to move to my bed later. Maybe I'll do like the other day when I went to bed Thursday night and didn't get up until 11 am Saturday.

I ate maple nut rolls with my coffee today, and I'll be taking baby back ribs wit honey garlic sauce out of the microwave momentarily.

I got a large supreme pizza from Saganing Eagles Landing Casino when I stayed there last week and finished it a couple days ago. I ate SEARED BISON SIRLOIN MEDALLIONS Served with Wild Mushroom Risotto, Demi-Glace, and Crispy Onions for dinner ther Wednesday. That was a $26 meal plus a drink for free. I had 8 fried chicken wings while I was there Thursday, and brought the whole pizza home with me, That was another $12 + $18 + $1.80 tax, and I think I paid $1.18 instead of $31.80.

The stay in a room with a king-size bed was free. I chose a Bay Side room with a "view" of Saginaw Bay in the distance. From the 5th of 6 floors I could only see flat spots between the treetops to know it was there. I stopped at the casino on my way home from my Labor Day long weekend trip, after I killed some time 4-wheeling though the woods towing my ATV on the trailer, and doing some shooting. I blew so much money the casino will want me back again. They gave me $25 credit to spend gambling, $25 to spend on food, and I got another $40 to spend on food for some reason. Probably because of the points I racked up last time I was there. I got the gift of the month Thursday, and I didn't even know they had a gift of the month. It's an Essential Oil Diffuser With Bluetooth Speaker & Digital Alarm Clock. I can use the speaker for movie night at the campfire when I get a new laptop. The speaker output on my POS quit working. Some keys are dead after I replaced the keyboard and I have to use the onscreen keyboard to sign in. After I get the new one I'll probably keep it around until Memorial Day weekend, then it's going to get a dose of lead poisoning.

I had some rhubarb custard bars that were getting moldy on top, so I scraped off the custard layer and threw it away. Then I ate the rhubarb layer and threw away the shortbread crust that was soaked through and mushy. Then I had a bowl of beef teriyaki flavor noodles. That was breakfast. Lunch was tamales from a can with a slice of smoked Gouda on the side, followed by some taco flavor potato chips, washed down with Starbucks frappuccino. I had a vanilla frappuccino, now I'm having coffee flavor. Not bad if you're craving sugar more than coffee. ;)

I nuked a bowl of Spicy Jalapeno refried beans, added 2 Volcanic Jalapeno beef sticks cut into about 80 slices, and nuked it again. I had to stir in a little water. It tastes like Slim Jims, except it tastes good, and it's kind of hot. I'm eating smoked Gouda on the side.

Macaroni and cheese with extra cheese, a can or two of Rotel, some seasoning and some chicken.  Turned out good...

Sometimes when you start throwing stuff together it turns out really good.

I had orange chicken that was in the freezer way too long. But I'm on my second glass of absinthe and don't care about that. I had strawberry cheesecake before that. It sat in the fridge too long before I finished it.
