I had a Bean Dog. You may be asking yourself, what the @#$% is a bean dog? Up until an hour ago it was nothing but an idea. Then I nuked a can of refried beans, and put some on a hot dog with cheese and real Mexican salsa, nuked it 45 seconds and ate it. Then I had another one. If you like chili dogs, you might like "beaners" too. I bought 5 packages of Ball Park Beef Franks on sale the other day. I don't buy hot dogs very often but thought, they're all beef, how bad can they be? They're salty AF! That's how bad they can be! In case you think I'm too sensitive to the taste of salt, each 1.875 ounce dog has 20% of the Daily Value of sodium. Five of them with no bread or condiments contain all the salt you should eat for an entire day. The beans and salsa cut down on the salty taste and made them edible. Kind of good, actually. I'll be having more later.

If you're on a salt-restricted diet for high blood pressure or some other reason, hot dogs might be enough to kill you. I know a woman who has hyponatremia, low sodium. You can get it from drinking way too much beer, or toxic amounts of water. Symptoms can be absent, mild or severe. Mild symptoms include a decreased ability to think, headaches, nausea, and poor balance. Severe symptoms include confusion, seizures, and coma; death can ensue. So, all of her mental and physical problems aren't from being bipolar, drinking beer, and smoking pot. Not all of them. She's a nice person when she's normal, but dumb as a stump about nearly everything. She's the only person I know whose doctors keep telling her, eat more salt, you're not getting enough salt in your diet. I'm glad that's not me, because there are just so many chips and salty snacks I can eat in a day.

""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington.
