Juggernaut Tactical makes a CA Compliant Featureless Grip that's different from any of the others I've seen. As soon as I saw it, the gears started turning. Even though I'm not in Commiefornia, I started wondering how good an AR pistol with this grip would be? You could put together a lower with the anodized aluminum featureless grip and Featureless End Plate "Designed to complement our featureless grip and provide you with the utmost comfort. Prevents the sharp edges and pinching that the standard mil-spec end plate gives you while using our featureless grip." Those are $99 if you buy them together. You could mate that with a Dead Foot Arms MCS AR-Pistol Kit - 2.5 inch or 4 inch, and build something similar in form and function to an SCR PISTOL LOWER for $150 less if I figured it correctly. I've heard about some problems with the SCR rifles and Raider pistols because they use so many non-standard parts, but the only thing that isn't stock on this build would be the recoil system, and it's proven to work. The 2.5" buffer tube uses a shortened M16 bolt carrier, but the 4" buffer tube uses any standard BCG. Other than that, it's a couple springs and a plunger. Not much to go wrong. It's $350.00 for the DFA kit, and you can buy AR lowers and lower parts kits CHEAP, compared to the $679.99 Raider lower. And finish the build cheaper than the $999.99 Raider pistol. And it looks like it would be a bit shorter too.

Good idea? Just plain stupid? Somewhere in between? A "point and click" AR pistol with a Shockwave Raptor grip or something similar sounds like a fun gun to me. With a red dot on it I think I could hold one the way I hold my shotgun, minus the stock on my shoulder, and aim it. But I could be wrong. Maybe next year I'll build it and find out.
