TandemKross Spitfire
« on: October 30, 2024, 03:22:11 PM »
One of the products I got an advance peak when I was at World Rimfire, is the TandemKross Spitfire barrel for the 10/22.

They officially rolled it out on...   10/22.

I had the cash with me, and I'm kicking myself for not buying it there on the spot.  Basically a <12oz barrel vented sleeve, cut for MLok.  Which means any MLok sights or forward hand holds or whatever will fit on the barrer.  TK also released a set of Fiber Optic sights that are as you might guess Mlok compatible.

I now have the deep seated desire to build out a iron sight 10/22  <kick kick kick>

I thought from the picture it was just another sleeve tension lightweight barrel, but having M-LOK slots instead of generic lightening/cooling slots is a whole new animal.

You shoulda woulda coulda....but we all have those stories.  How much more, if it is more, does it cost now that it's public?

It's the same MSRP as at the competition, however at the competition I had a 10% off coupon.  PROBLEM is one of funding.   I'd prefer to pay cash, which I have in hand, rather than charge it.  Also Miss Kitty takes notice of the charge cards entries when the bills come in.  The cash?  Not so much.

After going to TandemKross's website, yeah, I am definitely off the bubble.  Retrofitting and maintaining my 22's will give me something to do on days when it is too cold to be out.

I need 10/22 parts, Buckmark parts, Ruger Mark pistol parts, etc., etc., etc.

I had so much stuff in my cart the last time I shopped at TandemKross, I had to take several things out of my cart until later when I have more money.

I also got a pair or 2 of Volquartsen Ruger Mark II, III, IV & 22/45 Magazine Follower Buttons from Wing Tactical. They're marked down from $23.00 a pair to $6.30. A 10-pack is marked down from $23.00 to $20.70. They're supposed to have incredibly smooth operation. The TK buttons are $4.49 for a 2 pack.

I've never touched the follower buttons on my MK magazines.  I slip the reloading tool/keeper over them and drop the ammo in.  Would never occur to me that they needed upgrading.  But I'll keep that in mind.

I had pressure from my revo buddies to put this rimfire nonsense behind me and get back to serious (wheel) guns.  So I shot Iron Sight Revo Sunday.    GA ICORE is coming up Saturday.  So gradually the rimfire urge may be fading.  I'm still looking for a used 10/22 at this point though.   I love the HoloSun Comp sight so much I keep moving it around.  I may have to get another one, or two.

Don't tell my revo buddies but there's an outlaw Rimfire Challenge style match just a hour away.  I may sneak over there once a month.

Red or green?

I like how it has the multiple reticles in it.

The 507Comp.  All the store had was red.  I used in on my 22/45 at World Rimfire.  I moved it to my 6" 686 to practice Bianchi, and now I've put it on my 929 revo to shoot Open Revolver division in next months Steel Challenge.   I'm sold on this dot in circle thing.  Wow.  But I can't keep moving it around and sighting in every time I go to a different match.
