1-4X is good for a short, light carbine. I don't have a scope of that power but I have a 4X magnifier to go with the red dot on my Mechtech CCU.

My 12.7" and 16" barreled uppers are iron sighted, and my 20" flattop, in progress at this time, has a 3-9X with flip-up irons mounted at 45 degrees to the right. I'm also thinking about mounting my SIG Romeo-MSR to the scope, or offset to the right if there's room for the mount after I get the Devil Dog Concepts Hard Charger side charger and everything else on it. I think I would have to mount it on the handguard to clear the ejection port.

Here's the distant cousin w/ same scope.  16" barrel w/ 2" flash suppressor.  Skyjacker Defense lower and upper.  Made locally back in the 2010's when dozens of shops popped up.  They are tightly fitted though which I like.
