Sort of off the "gun" topic but goes to the overall state of the union.

Did anyone else, while watching all the bowl games, feel a connection between selling the bowl games (ATT Cotton Bowl, the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl, FedEx Orange Bowl, Allstate Sugar Bowl, etc.) AND selling a Senatorial appointment?

Yeah, I know the difference, but at some level, the bowl games "sold out" just the same.  Sort of a state of union that says anything is for sale.  Nothing is pure anymore.

What I mean is that it's not all that surprising about the Illinois Governor.  And not just because he's from Illinois either.

And, to bring it back on topic, Obama is in it for Obama.  He'll sell out to.   Just ask the gay rights activists.  He's already "smacked" them in the face.  Our turn is coming.

I think that one way or another all congressional appointments are sold, however most governors are more discreet than Blago.
How else would one explain the consideration of Caroline I've done nothing to qualify me to be a senator Kennedy?

Prime example ... Hilary Clinton, Secretary of State.

That was a payment of debt, not an appointment!

I'm just thankful that she was happy with that post and didn't demand the Supreme Court.

Im happy but yet I cant believe it took me 50 years to realize the whole process is a sham. The whole f------ government is BS. They are playing us . we are the frog in the pot .

I was in IL when Blago got elected, and I gotta tell you - 50 years ago Blago would not have shot himself, he is just that kind of guy. He didn't do anything wrong, it's all Fitzgerald's fault, nothing to shoot himself over.
