Thanks, Majer. I didn't think the ones I bought were painted, but there is a little dot in the middle of the rosette crimp. They're yellow #4, the highest power I saw in .22 caliber when I found them at Homeboy Depot.

I emailed Detroit Ammo Co. about having .22 rifle bullets and .25 ACP ammo in my 2 bags of ammo. They sold it but it was shipped directly from Triple R Munitions in California. Triple R Munitions informed them that they will be shipping me 200 rounds to make up for any miscellaneous rounds I received. I love dealing with Detroit Ammo Co. They're nice people. They have lots of firearms accessories, tools, cleaning supplies, guns, suppressors, and clothing too. They're trying to be the "Amazon" of the gun world, and right now they have 53 kinds of ammo wholesale in addition to the rest.

I need to stand up all the rest of the ammo in this box so I can see how long they are and get the .22 Longs winnowed out. Too bad I don't have some kind of sorter. If I had a 3D printer I might be able rig something up so the Longs drop through but Long Rifles don't. But I don't have one and have to do it by eye.

I spent hours today sorting my .22 ammo again. I think I played 6 episodes of Space Precinct while lined up about 15 rounds at a time on the desk to sort out the Long from the LR. I lined them up around 130 times, leaned down so it was closer to eye level, and shined a flashlight on them to get a good look. It takes a lot of time to inspect 2,000+ rounds that way. I did have some Ramset powder loads mixed in with it, one green and 22 yellow. I found another .25 ACP, one marked 6.35mm. Four Winchester, 2 expanding point and 2 FMJ, and 1 each of 4 other brands. I have a bunch of crimped blanks or rat shot. I'll find out when I shoot them. I had 1 .22 WMR and 1 .22 WRF. I put that one in my cartridge collection, along with the BB Cap. I have 1 blank that doesn't have room in it for powder since it's barely 3/16" long. It's about .09" wider than it is long, and the crimp goes back to the rim. I have about 65 Shorts and 130 Longs, and a 5"x5"x7.5" (187.5 cubic inch) box mostly full of LR. About 150 cubic inches of LR ammo in a plastic bag inside the box, and the other .22 ammo and blanks in 3 zipper bags on top of the LR.

I had 1 round of Fiocchi Competition ammo with a silver bullet. I looked online for the "f" headstamp like this guy in the picture has. He said it was Fiocchi, and when I checked their site there are several kinds of competition ammo with silver bullets. It's a coating to reduce friction. I have some blue polymer CCI ammo that seems to be subsonic Clean-22. They make Clean-22 with red polymer coating too. The future of rimfire is here. CCI Clean-22 uses an exclusive polymer bullet coating to greatly reduce copper and lead fouling in the barrel — without leaving a residue. It also cuts lead buildup in suppressors 60 to 80 percent. Both the Sub-Sonic and High Velocity loads feature a 40-grain round nose lead bullet with geometry that's been optimized for accuracy. With dependable CCI priming and consistent propellant, Clean-22 provides flawless cycling through semi-automatics and all 22 LR firearms. Clean-22 Hyper Velocity has a purple polymer coating. It was smart of them to color code the 3 types. And pink Clean-22 for Breast Cancer Awareness. The 40 grain bullets have velocities of 1070 and 1235 fps, while the 31 grain scoots along at 1550 fps. I have some CCI with plastic shot capsules too. They use #12 shot, and I've seen #13 shot referred to as "dust". I think that's as small as anyone made. The longer crimped cases I have are probably all #12 shot like this old Federal ammo, and the Short shells are blanks.

Triple R Munitions was supposed to send me 200 more rounds of ammo according to Detroit Ammo Co., to make up for the .25 ACP ammo, .22 rifle bullets, etc. they sent me, but they sent me 500 rounds, a whole brick of .22 ammo, back on the 17th. There were 5 boxes of Remington 22 Thunderbolt, 1 box of Peters Standard Velocity, 2 boxes of Western Super Match Mark III (Superior Accuracy Special Match Bullet and Lubricant), 1 box of ELEY tenex (Kynoch, Birmingham), and 1 box of Winchester Wildcat 22 with a 96 cent price sticker on it. The box looks just like the 1 box I have left from 1991. Both of them are Carton No. RCLR28A E115479, and could have been made the same day for all I know.

Today I got the CorBon ammo I ordered with free shipping. I bought a couple boxes of .380 ACP DPX and a couple boxes of .45 ACP +P DPX ammo. Caliber: 380 Auto, Bullet Wt.: 80gr DPX, Velocity: 1050fps, Energy: 196ftlbs, Test Barrel Length: 2.5 Inches. Caliber: 45 Auto +P, Bullet Wt.: 185gr DPX, Velocity: 1075fps, Energy: 475ftlbs, Test Barrel Length: 5.0 Inches. The .380 DPX is one of the few .380 loads I've heard of that meet the FBI protocol, almost. They end up at 11" of penetration most of the time.

CORBON's DPX (Deep Penetrating X-panding) ammunition is a PROVEN hunting load in the field, it utilizes an all-copper hollow point or tipped bullet. DPX is available in rifle loads as well as handgun loads. The reliable solid copper bullet provides consistent expansion, and deep penetration. Weight retention is 100% with this load even through thick hides, heavy, dense muscle or large, heavy bones are struck. Lead Free Restrictions?: All DPX bullets are also certified lead free and can be used in California.

COR®BON’s DPX® Handgun ammunition exhibits superior performance to all other defensive ammunition on the market. The reason is the homogenous solid copper projectile. “Barrier blind” is the new terminology for ammunition that outstandingly performs after penetrating a heavy barrier like auto glass or steel. DPX® is the only ammunition that maintains 100% of its weight after going through such barriers.

Lead Free Restrictions?:
All DPX bullets are also certified lead free and can be used in California.

Bullet Anatomy

The DPX bullet is 100% solid copper bullet.   Internal serration cuts have been added instead of traditional external serrations. These internal serration cuts allow the copper bullet to fully expand making the bullet double diameter with 6 razor sharp pedals.

Penetration Testing Results

The research and development team at COR®BON used the protocol from the FBI’s testing procedures to formulate the DPX® defensive line of ammunition. They achieved soft tissue penetration of 12”-18”, with reliable and consistent expansion. The recovered bullets retained 100% of the original size and weight when recovered from the test medium of 10% ballistic gelatin and shot through four layers of 10oz denim barrier. The permanent crush cavity is also considerably larger than that of a typical JHP.
