The ammo I ordered Tuesday showed up Thursday. They didn't waste any time.

DAC had 2 more available so I ordered both, 300 more rounds, for 900 total, Federal .223 52 grain JHP. That's enough for 30 mags full at 30 rounds each. The only listings I see for 50 grain .223 at Federal is Varmint & Predator at 3325 fps and 1227 ft/lbs at the muzzle. 20 and 50 round boxes available. It doesn't specify for 4-legged varmints and predators only, so it should put a hurt on 2-legged ones too. It says, "Mixed Grains & Bullet Types" but they're all JHP so far. I don't have any way to weigh them to figure out if there's more than one bullet weight. It's all shiny, new ammo. I checked a few in the last box and they were stamped FC 13 so it was loaded 12 years ago.

PSA had CCI Blazer 124gr 9mm FMJ for $115/500 rds a few weeks ago.
I ordered some and just got it in a few days ago.
They must've had a lot of orders because they usually ship pretty quickly and this time it took a week before it was even shipped.

Incidentally, it arrived the same day as our new 6x10 American flag to go on our new 40' pole the youngest son installed in place of the old 25' pole.

The ammo I ordered yesterday was here just before noon today! :o I wasn't expecting it so soon. I was in a good mood, so I ordered 100 rounds of .223 unpainted 62 grain tracers. I'll probably pull a bullet to see what they actually are.

I got my 100 rounds of .223 tracers yesterday. They're headstamped AD, which I had to look up. It turns out the ATF is good for something after all, they have a page all about headstamps. Letters, numbers, symbols, and more. All 5 boxes appear to have the same lot number, but there are multiple year dates per box.

https://afte.org/resources/headstamp-gallery/

Some of these have a large 0 visible on the primer, and some don't. Some of the primers have multiple very small dents, from what I don't know. Rough handling between loading and packaging I guess. I took one round out and pulled the bullet. I burned the powder, then used my propane torch to set off the primer. Then I placed the tip of the bullet in the case and held the torch to the base. It didn't just ignite, it popped! It flared bright red for about a second and was done. It's a good thing my 20" barrel has a 1:7" twist to stabilize long bullets like tracers. These are 1 1/8" long, as near as I can measure. My 16" barrel is 1:9" twist and should be good for anything up to about 75 grains, except tracers that ballistically match 62 grain ball ammo. It says on the boxes that these tracers weigh 62 grains, but if they're M856 bullets to go along with M855 ball, they should be just a fraction less than 64 grains. Either way, they're a lot longer than 54 grain M196 tracers if memory serves correctly.

A couple of days ago I was thinking that since I have 900 rounds of bulk .223 ammo, I should get a .50 cal ammo can to put it in. The way military 5.56 ammo is packed nowadays is in 4-pocket bandoliers, with 3 10-round clips in a cardboard sleeve in each pocket. That's 120 rounds per bandolier, and there are 7 of them in a can for a total of 840 rounds, and 2 cans to a crate. The bandoliers have a white thread near the bottom. If you rip the thread out, the pockets will be deep enough to put 30 round mags in. Way back in the old days ;) we had 7-pocket bandoliers with 2 clips in each pocket in a different kind of cardboard sleeve. So there were 140 rounds per bandolier instead of 120 like now, and it only took 6 of them to make 840 rounds. Now, as then, each bandolier has a safety pin on it to adjust the length of the strap, and there's a clip guide for each bandolier. I'm not sure there was always one for every bandolier, but there was at least 1 or 2 per can and whoever got one was told not to throw it away. They always had someone else loading all our mags, so all I did was grab full mags at the range on the rare occasions I had to qualify. I know my 900 rounds in 6 extra heavy duty Ziploc bags will fit in a .50 cal ammo can if 840 rounds in clips in cardboard sleeves and bandoliers will fit, but I read somewhere that 1,200 loose rounds will fit in a can. I have no idea how many loose rounds will fit in the smaller 7.62mm can, but 420 rounds in clips and bandoliers will fit in one. So, maybe 500-600 rounds?
