I was waiting for that from the 1911 purists. At least it is still a 1911.

Kid, yer makin' me drool.......a Les Baer 1911 is my personal 'Holy Grail' of firearms.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

It's a good choice. They shoot better than I do and they are the tightest 1911s you'll ever hold. You can jump up and down and shake 'em but you'll never hear of feel even the slightest rattle. Hang in there. You'll get one.

The only thing I like tight are women.  ;) and off to the corner(I hope it's finished)

I think tight is over rated in a 1911, leads to failures. My primary shooter is sloppy and rattles when you shake it, but is still 100% reliable. It has tons of rounds through it and got that way honestly. I can still shoot groups tighter than a whales butt hole with it.

I'm not knockin on those guys, they make damn fine guns. I just can't justify spending a few K on a gun (unless it has that extra "click").
Besides, there are other things I want more than another 1911 right now.

This is a very reliable great shooter. I've listed the info from the Les Baer website.

Guaranteed to shoot 2 1/2" groups at 50 YDS

Price point no worse than Wilson Combat.

 BAER 1911 S.R.P.©
(Swift Response Pistol)

Comes With Night Sights!

Ultimately, everyone who needs to carry a pistol for tactical use or who keeps a pistol for self defense wants something that's completely reliable, uncannily accurate, powerful enough to deal with any situation, and familiar as an old shoe. That was a tough bill to fill until Les Baer introduced his 1911 S.R.P., an uncompromising single stack performer based on the original Baer S.R.P.© but built on Baer's 1911 NM frame. It's every bit as dependable a performer as the original high capacity S.R.P. but it offers the traditional 1911 frame still favored by many. Features include:

Baer steel NM frame • Baer steel NM slide with front and rear serrations • Slide fitted to frame • Baer NM barrel with stainless match bushing • Baer deluxe fixed combat sight • Baer dovetail ramp type front sight • Lowered and flared ejection port • Baer checkered slide stop • Baer extended ejector • Baer tactical style ambi safety • Baer match trigger • Baer checkered flat mainspring housing • Checkered front strap @ 30 lpi • Fitted and tuned extractor • Beveled mag well • Complete tactical action job • Baer beavertail safety with pad • Baer deluxe Commander hammer and sear • Tritium night sights installed front and rear • Deburred for tactical carry • Bear Coat™ coating on complete pistol for maximum corrosion resistance • Baer Premium Checkered Cocobolo grips • Tuned for total reliability • Test fired with Federal 230 grain Hydra-Shok ammo and Remington Sabre 230 grain H.P. ammo and guaranteed to shoot 21/2" groups at 50 yards • (3) 8-round premium magazines • Special wooden presentation box

Hey TexGun,

Flower Mound Huh, we are almost neighbors. I'm just outside Tyler and my Brother-in-Law and soon to be gun store partner is from Arlington. I was in the Metroplex for a long time. I worked at Baylor for years.
