Well, Amy is done with treatments. She had her last radiation treatment Wednesday and the doctor said things looked very good and she had minimal side effects (very sore throat). So from now on it will be lifeport flushings and routine check-ups every month for a year or so. There will also be another PET Scan in 6 months. Right now she is still run down, and they said she will have to build strength slowly as it will not come back overnight. She gets out of breath quickly because the type of chemo she got really does a number on the pulmonary system.
All in all though, she is in very good shape....thanks to all the prayers and well-wishes from all you guys over the last 8 months. It has been a great 'spirit lifter' knowing that you were all here.
This place has been a big mood lifter for me and has kept me from being depressed.
Please keep my Uncle Jack in mind. The gamma knife treatment back before Christmas helped destroy the brain tumor, but the part of the brain that was destroyed along with it has left him without use of one side of his body. He has good days and bad, but on the whole, his condition has not improved much since December and I fear he has given up.
Thanks,
Chuck & Amy
