With all these people using cans and boxs... I'm going to run out of ammo.

cans and boxs are evil... evil I tell you.

Ground Game Chili

ground venison/wild pork/wild pork country sausage
chili spices
tomatos
onions
garlic
corn
kidney beans
corn bread

start the cornbread cooking
sautee the onions and garlic
brown the meat
add seasonings to taste
make fresh tomato sauce with tomatos, basil, cilantro
add the tomato sauce to the pot
simmer for 20 minutes
get the cornbread out of the oven
add corn and beans for five minutes
serve and top sour cream and cheese
mix in tapatio sauce for extra sweet heat

Takes about 30 minutes start to finish. Great with Sam Adams Boston Lager or Summer Ale.

Beans and Corn Bread:

1 can of Lucks Pinto Beans with onion
1 Sweet Corn Bread Mix

Make the corn bread. Heat the beans. Pile the beans over the corn bread. Eat everything on your plate.

*Hey, dont we already have a cooking thread? And where is that damn DRTV cookbook I kept hearing about ???

That'll never fly around here....sweet cornbread?....you want sweet, eat cake and leave the cornbread alone.

Sweet cornbread..........damn.

Corn chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl.

I don't have a recipe, but that is what I used to have at Panera Bread stores when it was cold and I was out - and when I lived anywhere near a Panera!

You can substitute chili for the corn chowder, but it just isn't the same.

I will take sweet cornbread over cake any day.  But that is dessert, not with the meal.   ;D

My Corn Chowder recipe :
In a Crock pot
1/3 fill with diced Potato's
2 large onions chopped
2cans of cream style sweet corn
1/4 pound of chopped reduced salt pork
fill remaining space with whole kernel sweet corn
cover ingredients with water
cook on high 4 -6 hours stirring occasionally
Add 1/2 sweetened condensed milk
Stir and serve

Beans don't belong in Chili!   It's called 'Texas MEAT stew' for a reason!  ;)

(and unless yer plannin' a Blazing Saddles remake you don't want me NEAR beans!)

You all need to get your heads out of your asses!

"Beans from a can, sweet corn bread, blah blah blah...... bitch bitch bitch"

If you would put down your preconceived notions and pick up a fork and spoon you might just find out that it tastes pretty darn good.... good grief, try to tell ya how to put something good on your plate and all I get is a bunch of "you can lead a horse to water..."

Ya'll just go hang it in your ass!
